I was in Labuan long time ago last last last Monday if you people don’t know. It was short study trip.

Labuan is duty free = cheap liquor

Was browsing through the duty free shop and I found this little thing.

Photobucket
Its Choya. The label stated that it is a Japanese Plum Liquor. Look interesting enough to try eh?

Photobucket
So I bought the 160ml version. Which suppose to do nothing to a heavy drinker… which I’m not.

Photobucket
That’s RM13.50 for 160ml…

and here is the caps mechanism..
Photobucket
rather slick I must say, It make me go wohoooo…!!! (engineering high)

The taste?

It smell like the Iban’s rice wine but taste more like a sweet plum juice infuse with liquor. You have that warm feeling after a few sip. Not enough to make me drunk though…

but after a few shot later, its a different story.. ;)

p/s: no I’m not drunk. I seem to have a high resistance against alcohol.

cheers

Sarikei Time Capsule
Started by a guy from Sarikei, ex-Anthonian. This blog takes us from the beginning of Sarikei, the History I might say. Here we have some collection of Sarikei’s pictures. Some is quite rare because some of it is from personal collections. Can bring the nostalgic feeling for those from Sarikei.

But its not all history, here we have guides for the food in Sarikei too. Every aspect of Sarikei was told in this BLOG. Drop by and say hello to Daniel…

I’m lazy to type.. bye…

Tebilang

Here is another Iban language magazine. It’s more like a mix of information+local entertaiment scene+Iban history+stories.

Tebilang literally translated to Popular. This mag will published every 3 months. Which is a long wait ;) . But can’t blame them because the material to write about is limited. Better than none.

It is a good read in your free time. If you have the spare change and you can read Iban Language, go on buy it… :) (No I’m not paid to say this)

Apart from this, we have Pegari (which is the stepping stone for modern Iban Magazine, we have a very old publication of Iban language magazine before. I will search for it) and another one named Kesulai (mean Butterfly) I think this one is more on entertainment, not yet get hold of one.

This is your common blog post. A food review. Ice cream review more precise.

Introducing Nestle Drumstick Inferno!!!
ice cream

I was walking down the street suddenly I saw this big-big box. Somehow it is very cold inside that box even though the outside is very cold. I was like… WTF… the I see this Nestle Drumstick Inferno. Maybe that is why they put it in a very cold box. Then the keeper of the box appear, I was like .. oh shit!.. then it say .. if you want it pay me RM2.50/ … More than glad to pay RM2.50
ice cream
Walk2 down the street… open up the wrapper… got this ‘extra’ tall top wrapping/mechanism/stuff…. whad the hell lah… then you see this high high… (not that kinda high) stuff….

ice cream
This is the only special thing…. a lump of extra Ice cream at the top…
I walk2 down street and pass a swimming pool, I saw a man in the swimming pool and I say…
“Hey! I see what you do”

Then I can hear from the back people saying “Must be a Nespray child”;)

Notes:
This is not written by me. My dog blackie typed it. Maybe I need to send him for a check up at the local vet. I was forced to hold that ice cream in the picture by Blackie or he bite my camera.

(P/S: There you have it, a typical way we must write a blog post. ;) )

I don’t know the meaning of the name. This eating establishment is among the latest restaurant to open in the so ever popular KingFisher park. This restaurant is situated opposite the Little Mantai restaurant. It uses the corner shop lot to its full extent.

We wasn’t planning eating at this restaurant in the first place, but an acquaintance of mine is having her lunch there so I decided to try it out since the restaurant is less than a week old that time.

The restaurant is quite clean even though the floor is a little bit oily (all the restaurants in Kingfisher have oily floors). The cleanliness feeling maybe caused by the shinny tiles on the walls and the green pearl glow paint they use. The choices of colour sure make the restaurant feel so vibrant and lively.

The proprietor seems to have some sense of style when he/she design this restaurant interior.
Look at the damn ceiling!!
wahyan
It’s a freaking plaster that sure will cost the proprietor a couple of thousands. The lighting is so modern, no more you have those kalimantan bulbs. Well this restaurant gets an A for its interior. By far this is the most well design interior for a kedai kopi that I have seen.

Not to forget the freaking fan. It’s the good old National remote control ceiling fan. Which again bring this restaurant to its own class in Kingfisher Park.

When you enter the restaurant you will see this big board.

You have 40++ menus to choose from. To make you order, you just need to tell the waitress the number for the dishes you want. Just refer to the big board. But sometime you need to add extra instruction on how you want your food prepared :) .

Since I’m still full I decided to try menu no 15, which is a sabahan kolok mee with BBQ pork ribs. Somehow I was disappointed (as expected) with the kolok mee. It taste really bad or not to my liking. The BBQ pork ribs tasted nice though.
The price tag of RM4 for almost all the dishes available there but there are some dishes that set you back for RM12.

So if you are around Kingfisher park. Do come and visit this restaurant.
