Deuter Crosscity backpack

April 2, 2009 | Posted in Reviews, Out Of The Ordinary | Comments (6)

My line of work require me to travel a lot but the stay normally one or two nights… back then when I started working and the pocket is not so deep. I invest RM60 on decent backpack.. A cap ayam Camel Mountain backpack bought from India Street…what can I say… it do the same job. packed my lappies, underpants, shirts, toiletries, jeans, chargers, bottles etc…. good enough for a 3 night stay… But soon, the cap ayam become uncomfortable.. and the quest for a new bag begins.. konon nya..

then GF offer to subsidize a new backpack. hearing that I do my research found the Deuter Crosscity 28 liter backpack… at first I was thinking of getting Deuter Futura 28L but it seems to be over the budget… so Deuter Crosscity it is.. placed my order at an online store and not long after, I received my backpack…

Behold….

Deuter Crosscity…

Compared to my Camel Mountain
Photobucket
Seem a little bit shorter and fatter than the camel mountain backpack..

The challenge…
Photobucket
is to fill all this in the backpack and still have room for another set of clothing for another day… manage to pack 4 days worth of clothing into the backpack since I use it.. :)

and..
Photobucket
it has this nice section where you can put a bike helmet or a jacket in my case… also can put anything you might think.. shoes, small boxes, junk food… anything…

Internal view

Photobucket
This is the front compartment. Smaller than the main compartment of course. Can stuff your toiletries, pen, knife, camera… etc here…

Photobucket
Main compartment with a padded laptop holder… just nice to fit everything in… I mean everything…

It also has a nice side pocket that can fit a 1.5litre drinking water bottles… and probably a canteen as well….

Photobucket
It also have this nice airstripes stuff… which is nothing more than a bulge at the back that can provide adequate air flow to your back and minimize sweating…

Has been using it quite a time now… Still tahan from my constant abuse so far… and its comfortable what…

For Rm255 it must be comfortable…

oil candle.

my mum use to say “nya alai orang ngasuh belajar siang ari”

kk blackout

That phrase haunt me until my uni life :p

Seriously, Sabah or more precisely KF went kaput from 7pm till 11.40pm.

What worse? Next day is final examination.

Notice the white light there, that is my DIY ring macro light which was retrofitted to a table lamp. Providing a small patch of white light.

Further through the night, I hacked the candle to provide me more lumen.

Bought myself a set of Stanley screwdrivers.. :) :) :) Since my cheap screwdriver just shear off when I tried to open a tight screw.
I guess, they should have heat treated the steel. :(

NOTE: 2009 version can be found HERE

This is the Malaysian version David Seah compact calendar 2007 which I later edited to 2008. I have been using this since early this year, however the Malaysian holiday is not included in the current list, I end up writing on the calendar manually every holidays. So for 2008, I edited the .xls file to include holidays for Malaysia.

This calendar include every general public holidays available in Malaysia, I also include Hari Gawai Dayak and Pesta Kaamatan for Sarawak and Sabah.

Another version of the calendar include school holidays, this version is suitable for parents, school students and teachers to plan their activity.

Both calendar are included in the Excel file.
