Introduction of new word to the Iban: Part 1
January 16, 2008 | Posted in Best Of Pejalai |while I was half awake just now, I realized that how much of our Iban community has change since 15 years ago. Day to day life is not really the same now.
One great example is that how many new words has seep into our language!
The easiest one to spot is the wide usage of the word handphone, yeah. Cellphone some people might say.
Handphone/Cellphone
If you ask the folks in the rumah panjang about handphone, let say.. 18 years ago. The will look at you with a blank stare, and maybe some (very small individual) might know it, but they know it as ATUR.
