Finally after a very long wait the bridge is finished. Now Sibu is just another town for the weekend. Gone the long ferry queue…
It might be nothing for some of you but for us in Sarikei and Sibu. This bridge is a God send.
I was lucky to use it on the first day of it’s official opening..

First I don’t want to stop, but seeing tons of people stoping by so i decided to stop la. Even my dad ask me to stop.. and even the Kastam Diraja Malaysia stop to take pictures

It is high though… This is the Rejang river.

This bridge will bring in more economic potential for both Sibu and Sarikei in the long term…
Now Sibu is just a mere 1 hour and half drive from my house…
cheers..

whoa nice viewww

Finally.. after “waiting” for so many years… if I’m not mistaken, more than a decade already, right?
I still remember, the long queue waiting for the ferry during festival time.. really a nightmare.. The waiting time for the ferry can be up to 5 hours or more..
Folk from other places will never understand how meaningful is this bridge..

chrissie: yeah nice and scary
once upon a time we stuck for 8 hours during pre Gawai holidays… darn… but now the regular user around Lanang ferry point is complaining for the price…
chen: I think more than a decade also…
