Finally after a very long wait the bridge is finished. Now Sibu is just another town for the weekend. Gone the long ferry queue…

It might be nothing for some of you but for us in Sarikei and Sibu. This bridge is a God send. ;)

I was lucky to use it on the first day of it’s official opening..

This bridge will bring in more economic potential for both Sibu and Sarikei in the long term…

Now Sibu is just a mere 1 hour and half drive from my house…

Since people are talking about Gubra and Sepet after the hot Talkshow in RTM. So I must join them in the bandwagon….

This is written a long time ago…
Have you watched Gubra by Yasmin Ahmad. I was able to watch it 2 days after it open in Cinema. And Guess what?

The cinema is empty. (~_~”)

(*this hypotheses apply to Kota Kinabalu only)

Two hypotheses:
1. Everyone watched it on the premier day
2. Everyone still don’t like to watch the true Malaysian movies.

I think the latter would be the one. We Malaysian grow up watching all those lovey-duey movies in cinemas but yet we forget the naked truth of Malaysian societies. Let us open up our minds. In your typical Malaysian movies, there is no such thing as kissing, hugging and even sometime there is not a single thing called sex in your typical Malaysian movies… but in our present society. Such things do happen… plenty of them BTW… oh…. forget about it-Lah…

What do I think of Gubra?
> It is a pretty sad movie actually. We all know what happened in Sepet if you watch Sepet-Lah… Then Gubra is the “kesinambungan” from Sepet. Gubra present two different storyline which doesn’t interact with each other through out the movie. One is about your lovely Orked and the other is about a prostitute name Temah.
> ok … let us deduce the sad part, Gubra is funny if you really get the JOKES. Up to one level, plenty of messages delivered to the viewer and again, if you really get the messages. I also obtain some new perspective of our local society through Gubra. That is a good thing (TM of HB)

However the ending doesn’t really satisfy me. There are some knots that are still undone at the end. Which in turn probably give us a hint of another sequel in the near future. Maybe Yasmin?

Final word, watch it. Then say something….

By the way I have some really interesting stuff here…
Gubra Parody Poster
This one almost got me kicked by a friend because of jealousy. ;) That is not a good thing.

Oh well… here is another one with a dialog… Lame one… I know it…
Gubra Parody Poster 2

So Yasmin Ahmad take me as your actor for the next movie. ;)

oh well it’s all in the fun of it…

Note: If you somehow want to use the pics above, please link back here. That is all I ask for.

Ok let us now meet my trusty Nikon E5900. I know that this blog have been silent for more than 2 weeks. Well this will hopefully entertains any of you who still visit this blog for an update. Just you wait for end of April, I’ll be back and I promise more adventure and shocking discovery or maybe some fear factor grub eating or maybe I demonstrate to you how to finish kampua mee in 2 minutes.

my camera and me reflection

Of course with the owner also lah. Don’t have the wide angel lenses to capture your entire room and you and the camera? This pasar malam Oakley glasses does the job nicely… poor man’s way of doing stuff.

my camera and me reflection again

This shot was taken during my most boring night of study. Of course you can use the mirror, but this Oakley glasses give the wide angel effect ;) .

SKTM building
Yes I know the sky look artificial but I can’t help it. Blue sky is so nice to see loh…. This is the power of digital post processing and some free time. Note that the picture quality is low because of the jpg compression.

Canselori UMS
Taken at the UMS chancellory where the majestic twin towers stood proud….

I know… the blue sky…..

bunga bungaan di UMS
Then we have some pretty little flower from the gardens. Where UMS spend hundreds of thousand to take care of them. Nice what?

masjid UMS
UMS mosque. What? Putrajaya? No lah… this is the little brother….

I know they look the same…

But hey… it is among the tourist attraction in Sabah. Not to miss out the whole UMS campus is a tourist attraction. Well,… when you are the most beautiful campus in south east Asia, what do you expect? Where else can you find a university facing the tallest mountain in Malaysia (mount Kkinabalu) and another side facing the beautiful ocean and another side facing setingan. We have a nice sunrise over the mountain and a beautiful sunset by the seaside.
